PhiMart is an online auction site specializing in consumer electronics and computers. Launched in October 2007, PhiMart combines the convenience of modern day e-commerce with the camaraderie of a traditional marketplace. Based on ten years of e-commerce experience, PhiMart was developed out of a desire for more cost-efficient methods of conducting business online. Dissatisfied with the high costs of selling on existing auction sites, PhiMart founder and C.E.O. Daniel Kim sought to create an online marketplace that was easy to use and equally beneficial for sellers as well as buyers. That vision was actualized with the establishment of PhiMart.com, an online shopping and auction marketplace that charges no listing fees and exceptionally low final merchant fees. Such low fees gave the sellers greater profit, and passed the savings on to the buyers. PhiMart also instituted a unique points-redemption system using olives as rewards. When buyers shop at PhiMart.com, they are given olives, which can be redeemed for eCash and used on future purchases. PhiMart.com was dubbed "The Golden Marketplace". Phi, the Greek symbol for "golden ratio", represents the spirit of commerce. PhiMart is a third party service and does not sell any of the products featured on the site.
